You will contribute to the DevOps/Service Ownership culture that spans the globe by participating in our AI first automation initiatives and ensuring the security, reliability, and performance of our platform. We are an agile and fast-paced organization that generates significant value and outcomes that align with critical business objectives.

Your Impact:

  • Backend application development for Commerce Cloud.
  • Implementing performant and scalable release orchestration tooling and processes to ensure the success of Commerce Cloud in Hyperforce (Salesforce's public cloud platform).
  • Building solutions within the team's Centralized Feature Toggle framework that helps enforce safe change best practices for production deployments (Dark launch release mechanics through the enforcement of feature toggle rollout strategies).
  • Contributing to the team's Metadata Service platform for AI Agents to proactively detect and report anomalies.
  • Test driven development practices as well as CI/CD tools and its usage.
  • Maintaining a high level of Service Ownership through safe change practices and participating in the team's on-call rotation to ensure our services remain operational and highly available.

Required Skills:

  • A related technical degree required.
  • 5+ years backend software development experience, with exposure to Delivery, Platform, Incident or Release engineering.
  • Proven knowledge of application development using object oriented programming languages: Java or Go/GoLang.
  • Extensive experience with Kubernetes, specifically, automating systems/services that scale while maintaining the balance between security, reliability, availability, and scalability.
  • Proven track record in implementing DevOps principles where possible while engineering for scale in an enterprise environment.
  • CI/CD, DevOps, Configuration Management and Infrastructure as-code principles experience.
  • Experience migrating existing workflows into reusable, modular, and well documented code and APIs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical information to multiple departments.

Desired Skills

  • Experience with AI-augmented engineering practices (e.g., Cursor, GitHub Copilot).
  • Experience working with or building MCP servers.
  • Familiarity with Release, Change and Incident Management.
  • Understanding of monitoring and observability best practices
  • Developing Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using Terraform.
  • Prior experience working with cloud technologies such as AWS, GCP, or Azure
  • Experience supporting and troubleshooting relational databases and distributed platforms.
  • Experience in supporting and maintaining Java applications.
  • Experience with JVM optimization and Java server technologies like Tomcat or Jetty
  • Perl/Python/BASH scripting experience
  • Prior Puppet or automated deployment experience
