Scientist II, Quantitative Sciences, Discovery Sciences
- Revolution Medicines, Inc.
- Redwood City, California
- Full Time
Revolution Medicines is a clinical-stage precision oncology company focused on developing novel targeted therapies to inhibit frontier targets in RAS-addicted cancers. The company's R&D pipeline comprises RAS(ON) Inhibitors designed to suppress diverse oncogenic variants of RAS proteins, and RAS Companion Inhibitors for use in combination treatment strategies. As a new member of the Revolution Medicines team, you will join other outstanding scientists in a tireless commitment to patients with cancers harboring mutations in the RAS signaling pathway.
The Opportunity:
The Discovery Sciences - Quantitative Sciences team is seeking a forward-thinking, motivated Scientist II to accelerate our oncology drug discovery efforts. This individual will be pivotal in designing and executing innovative high-throughput and high-content biochemical and cellular assay screening platforms, enabling faster data-driven decisions, identification of chemical starting points for projects, and candidate advancement. The successful candidate will be a hands-on scientist with a passion for problem-solving at the interface of technology, data, chemistry, and biology. They will contribute directly to our tri-complex screening platform and support multiple early discovery programs by delivering high-quality data packages, driving assay optimization, and strengthening cross-functional workflows. This is an opportunity to help shape the foundation of our team, establish best practices, and expand the reach of quantitative screening and profiling across research as well as contribute to our mission of providing high-quality experimental data for existing programs.
Responsibilities:
Design, optimize, validate, miniaturize, and execute robust screening assays across various biological formats (e.g., TR-FRET, NanoBRET, imaging-based, and transcriptomic readouts).
Integrate scalable automation solutions for walk-up and scheduled workflows (e.g., Hardware: Hamilton, Tempest, Echo; Software: Celario, Overlord, Momentum).
Contribute to experimental design discussions and data review for projects involving molecular glue characterization and protein interaction modulation.
Apply advanced statistical and data analysis methods, integrating tools such as Genedata Screener, D360, Spotfire, and programming languages (Python, R) to extract insights from and guide SAR and MoA studies.
Coordinate assay tech transfer and screen execution with external CROs, ensuring robust assay reproducibility and timely delivery on high-throughput screens and phenotypic assays.
Collaborate within Discovery Sciences and cross-functionally, including Medicinal Chemistry, Cancer Biology, Bioinformatics, Automation and Information Sciences to drive cohesive project execution and data flow.
Manage timelines and deliverables for multiple projects simultaneously maintaining high standards for scientific rigor, contribute to project updates, data presentations, that influence decision-making.
Support mentorship and technical development within the team, contributing to a strong, collaborative, and high-performing scientific culture.
Required Skills, Experience and Education:
PhD in biological sciences, chemical biology, pharmacology, or bioengineering with 2-4 years of relevant experience; or MS with 4-8 years of experience in industry or biotech settings.
Demonstrated expertise in assay development for high-throughput/high-content formats and successful screening campaign execution.
Strong coding and analytical fluency in tools such as R, Python, JMP, or equivalent.
Hands-on experience with integrated automation platforms and scheduling software (e.g., Celario).
Track record of cross-functional collaboration and effective project ownership.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple efforts in parallel.
Experience with oncology or immunology-focused discovery projects is a plus.
Excellent communication skills with a collaborative, team-oriented mindset and a strong sense of scientific ownership.
Preferred Skills:
Familiarity with automated liquid handling.
Experience with high throughput screening.
Strong understanding of biostatistics and assay performance metrics.
Demonstrated success in driving strong collaborations.
Background in data integration across multiple assay types.
