Job Description

AbbVie Process Chemistry Department is seeking a Senior Scientist II. This role will be in the Radiochemistry group, which specializes in the synthesis of radiolabeled APIs using long half-life, beta-emitting isotopes. These compounds support screening assays and metabolism studies that are critical to advancing drug development. This role requires expertise in both process chemistry and radiochemistry.

Key responsibilities:

  • The candidate will contribute to, and may lead, project teams focused on process development and characterization of radiolabeled small molecules, peptides, antibody drug conjugates and other emerging modalities.

o Develop and optimize radiolabeling strategies for peptides and related compounds.

o Collaborate across functions to support the purification, isolation, and formulation of radiolabeled drug substances, peptides and other modalities.

o Set project strategies and provide leadership in a cross-functional team environment.

  • This position will require experience with cGMP activities related to the preparation of radiolabeled API to comply with corporate and regulatory standards.
  • Demonstrated expertise in transition metal-catalyzed cross-coupling reactions, reaction development, and hydrogen isotope exchange. Proven ability to overcome key project challenges by
