Description

Provide Environmental, Health and Safety support to the Life Cycle Readiness Branch (LCRB) at DEVCOM Armaments Center, Picatinny Arsenal, NJ.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Conduct environmental coordination activities for Programs of Record throughout the life cycle for conventional ammo including supporting major milestone (MS) decisions such as MS B, MS C, Type Classification (TC), Full Material Release (FMR) and Full Rate Production (FRP)
  • Lead and/or coordinate the development of required environmental documentation such as Programmatic Environment, Safety and Occupational Health Evaluations (PESHEs), Programmatic Environmental Assessments (PEAs), Records of Environmental Consideration (RECs) documents, etc. Provide recommendations on engineering controls, personnel protective equipment, range sustainment recommendations; based on review of reports, technical papers, etc.
  • Support other Environmental, Safety and Occupational Health related activities as needed, such as providing support to Life Cycle Readiness Branch ESOH team on PESHEs, PEAs, RECs, review of Hazardous Material Management Plans, SOWs, Safety Assessment Reports, Health Hazard Assessment Reports, etc.
  • Conduct environmental data analysis, literature reviews, etc. in support of LCRB programs
  • Attend / participate in IPT meetings, LCRB project meetings, quarterly briefings, etc. as required.

Basic Qualifications

  • BS degree in environmental and heath related field and up to 2 years relevant experience
  • Basic knowledge of environmental health and safety requirements related to chemical R&D and production
  • Basic understanding of chemical processes and chemical hazards
  • Proficiency in MS Office and other relevant computational software and programming
  • Working in a team-based environment
  • Good presentation skills
  • Strong attention to detail

US citizenship required.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience with chemical processes, environmental programs, and relevant software packages highly desirable.

Pay Range: Pay Range $50,050.00 - $90,475.00
