Lab Technician
Job Description

As a Lab Technician, you will be responsible for the collection, preparation, and analysis of samples. You will ensure that samples are processed accurately for ICP testing and documented correctly.

Responsibilities

  • Collect samples and prepare them for lab analysts.
  • Label samples accurately and ensure proper processing before ICP testing.
  • Transport samples to the lab for preparation and to another lab for XRF analysis.
  • Conduct ICP preparation work and run initial ICP-MS testing.
  • Document data meticulously and report findings to the Lab Manager.
Essential Skills
  • Proficiency in quality control, chemistry, and laboratory procedures.
  • Experience in sample preparation and laboratory documentation.
  • Knowledge of quality assurance, wet chemistry, titration, inspection, and chemical handling.
  • Familiarity with ICP-MS.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • One to three years of experience in a laboratory or similar environment is preferred.
  • Experience in materials sampling and sample preparation is advantageous.
  • An associate or bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline, ideally chemistry, is required.
Work Environment

The position operates on a 2-2-3 rotating schedule with shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM. The work environment is a mix of a plant setting for sample retrieval and a laboratory for analysis. Full personal protective equipment (PPE) and a fitted respirator are required for safety.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $31.00 - $31.00/hr.
