What we want

The Research Associate will perform experimental research on chemical and physical processes of water and wastewater treatment including design and execution of experiments, samples handling and analysis, data interpretation, and preparation of reports and summaries of results. The research associate will also oversee the management and operation of the water and environmental research lab at TAMUQ. They will also provide technical assistance to researchers and mentorship to graduate and undergraduate students in the laboratory.

Required Education and Experience:

Appropriate bachelors and two years of related professional experience.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.

Job Responsibilities

Research: Perform experimental research on chemical and physical processes of water and wastewater treatment including design and execution of experiments, samples handling and analysis, data interpretation, and preparation of reports and summaries of results.

Oversight: Oversee the management and operation of the water and environmental research lab at TAMUQ including, but not limited to, ensuring compliance with TAMUQ policies and procedures and adherence to safety regulations and quality standards, preparing project safety analysis of research projects and maintaining QA/QC of laboratory activities, managing laboratory inventories and equipment, maintaining and troubleshooting laboratory equipment, chemicals and materials procurement, and maintaining laboratory records.

Assistance: Provide technical assistance to researchers and mentorship to graduate and undergraduate students in the laboratory.
