Quality Control Technician Green Coffee
Location: Tomball, TX | Job Type: Full-Time | Pay: $18.00/hour
Schedule: Monday Friday, 8:00 AM 4:30 PM (On-site)
Position Overview
Were looking for a dedicated Quality Control Technician to support our quality assurance team. This hands-on role is responsible for green coffee inspection, physical analysis, sample roasting, and cupping. As the key point of contact for quality data. The role collaborates closely with other departments and contributes to continuous improvement across our quality systems.
Key Responsibilities
Inspect green coffee on the production floor and perform physical quality checks.
Conduct sample roasting and cupping on daily incoming and outbound coffee.
Perform analytical testing (moisture content, screen size, density, defects).
Record and interpret results using SCA cupping forms and internal QC systems.
Prepare and organize daily cupping sessions; communicate results to internal teams.
Maintain and calibrate lab equipment and inventory.
Assist in the management of held product and keep accurate disposition records.
Prepare and ship coffee samples to clients as needed.
Follow food safety protocols and participate in third-party inspections.
Education & Experience
High school diploma required; associate's preferred.
Prior experience in the coffee industry is a strong plus.
SQF certification or experience preferred.
Familiarity with sensory evaluation and basic CRM or QC systems is beneficial.
Skills & Physical Requirements
Strong attention to detail and organization.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to stand, sit, and move for extended periods.
Able to lift up to 25 lbs and work occasional overtime as needed.
Passion for coffee, sustainability, and continuous improvement.
