The Impact You Will Have

Zelman & Associates is seeking an Equity Research Associate in its New York City office to work directly with senior executives of one of the leading housing-related research firms on Wall Street. The position will utilize the strength of both Walker & Dunlop and Zelman to provide insightful, thought-provoking research on the homebuilding industry.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Support senior team members to initiate, develop and publish insightful company and industry research, including equity coverage of publicly-traded building product stocks
  • Conduct extensive proprietary surveys; synthesize and interpret results
  • Create and maintain detailed, sophisticated financial models and valuation analyses
  • Prepare timely, comprehensive, thought-provoking equity research reports and presentations
  • Interact with top industry executives and sophisticated institutional investors, including many of the worlds most renowned hedge funds, mutual funds and pension funds
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • In addition to Excel and other Microsoft Office applications, you will be expected to learn to use new applications and technologies including, but not limited to, business information applications such as Sigma or Power BI, artificial intelligence-based tools and internally-developed Python or other scripts.
  • Attendance is generally required in-office Monday through Friday.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelors degree; preference for concentration in finance, economics, or accounting
  • Work experience in finance preferred
  • Familiarity with basic coding/programming concepts helpful but no coding experience is required.

This position has an estimated base salary of $95,000 - $110,000 plus discretionary bonus. An employment offer is based on the applicants relevant work experience, applicable knowledge, skills, abilities, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
