As a Scientist I at RES, you will play an important role in supporting field operations and environmental data collection for restoration and remediation projects. You'll independently collect soil, groundwater, and surface water data, ensure adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs), and contribute to the development of technical deliverables that support project compliance and permitting efforts. This is a great opportunity for someone with strong field experience who is ready to expand their technical expertise and regulatory knowledge while working alongside experienced scientists, engineers, and project managers. 30% of the time you will be in the office, assisting in the preparation of reports and permitting documents for submittal to clients and state, federal and local regulatory agencies. A Day in the Life You'll start the day prepping field equipment for a groundwater or soil sampling event, ensuring all GPS units, probes, and datasheets are ready for collection. At the site, you'll collect samples according to FDEP SOPs, maintain accurate field logs, and ensure adherence to safety protocols. After returning from the field, you'll upload data, perform preliminary QA/QC checks, and support drafting environmental deliverables. You may also review project maps, assist with site evaluations, or participate in compliance reporting. As your technical skills grow, you'll increasingly contribute to project tracking and agency coordination efforts. We would love to talk to you if you have many of the following: Bachelor's degree in environmental science, geology, engineering, or a related natural or physical science field 1+ years of relevant field experience Proficiency with field sampling procedures and field equipment (e.g., YSI multiparameter meters, turbidimeters, GPS units) Experience independently collecting environmental field data and maintaining accurate field records Familiarity with GPS/GIS data collection tools and basic GIS/map interpretation Understanding of FDEP sampling protocols and field safety procedures Ability to read and interpret technical documentation such as monitoring plans, site maps, and planting palettes What will make you stand out?
