Kelly Science and Clinical is hiring for a Scientist I in R&D Formulations for one of our reputable clients in the Allegan MI area. Salary/Pay Rate/Compensation: $35/hr + based one experience
Overview:
Our client is recognized for pioneering advancements in oral care formulations. Collaborate with our expert teams to develop and enhance products that provide innovative consumer benefits and solutions for cost-effective manufacturing processes.
Schedule: Monday Friday, normal standard working hours
Responsibilities:

  1. Provide formulation science expertise to independently develop consumer cosmetic and OTC products, outperforming national brands while improving manufacturability and cost.
  2. Identify, evaluate, and develop suppliers and contract manufacturers for new product processes, ensuring regulatory compliance and intellectual property protection.
  3. Lead product development teams, managing project budgets, timelines, and external expertise to deliver new chemical products.
  4. Interface with suppliers and lead formulation-based process development, prototype batching, and process validations for new products.
  5. Make informed, science-based decisions supporting product innovations and cost-reduction efforts across departments.

Qualifications:

  • B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Biology, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Pharmacy, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 4 years (B.S.) or 2 years (M.S.) in formulation and development of consumer or pharmaceutical products.
  • Proficient in patent knowledge, U.S. Pharmacopeia, and USFDA regulations.
  • Effective communication skills for collaboration across organizational levels.
  • Ability to develop and execute design of experiments.
  • Strong knowledge of GMP and GLP.
  • Preferred experience in developing oral care products such as toothpaste, mouthwash, and whitening products.
