Job Title: Quality Control Specialist Post Funding

Position Location: Raleigh, NC. Hybrid Position, must live locally.

The Quality Control Specialist Post Funding is responsible for reviewing and auditing loan files to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements. This role plays a key part in maintaining the integrity of the consumer lending process by identifying discrepancies and ensuring documentation standards are met.

As a key contributor to the Coastal team, your responsibilities will be:

• (70%) Conducting Loan Audits: Auditing funded consumer loans to ensure adherence to established credit union guidelines, policies, procedures, and relevant regulatory parameters. This includes verifying underwriting guidelines have been met, confirming the accuracy of disclosures, and ensuring all required loan documentation is complete and imaged correctly. Maintaining a QC database of originated loan files, documenting audit reviews, assisting with accurate electronic archiving of files, and maintaining audit checklists.
• (20%) Identifying and Reporting Discrepancies: Uncovering system issues, processing errors, policy violations, and any other discrepancies or exceptions found during the audit process. This includes identifying and documenting any red flags indicating potential fraud or misrepresentation. Reviewing reports on audit findings, quality assurance, and exceptions, tracking error resolution, and observing trends to recommend process improvements and risk reduction ideas.
• (10%) Communication and Collaboration: Regularly communicating with lending staff, management, and other relevant teams regarding missing files, QC issues, and resolution steps. Collaborating with leaders and business partners on remediation of findings and process improvements.

Experience:

• Minimum of one year of experience in quality control; lending quality control experience preferred.

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent

Must be able to learn and retain information; remain in a stationary position; constantly operate a computer and dual screens simultaneously; and converse with others on a continual basis.
