Chemical Engineer

at AFC Materials Group in Lake In The Hills, Illinois, United States Job Description Design & develop processes related to new manufacturing chemical coatings. Plan & create complex coating-related research & development projects from concept to production, including determining materials & testing needed to create products to support AFC's innovation. Conduct testing of new products including application testing & provide technical support to the technical & sales teams. Ensure the safety of the department's work environment & work processes. Develop & analyze statistical data & product specifications to determine present standards & establish proposed quality & reliability expectancy of finished new products. Create & implement inspection criteria & procedures for new products. Set up & maintain applications lab, including proposing equipment needed for testing of new products. Direct workers running the R D coating tower to ensure continuous control over materials, facilities, & products. Provide product & process education as informed by testing & performance and conduct Finite Element Analysis & Failure Mode Effects Analysis (& similar modeling).
