About This Role

We're looking for a Senior Scientist with extensive structural biology experience and a passion for structure-based drug design. In this role, you'll be instrumental in determining novel cryo-EM and crystal structures, driving insights into mechanisms of action, and contributing to protein engineering using cutting-edge technologies. You'll play a key role in-house cryo-EM lab, including our Glacios cryo-EM microscope, and leverage structural data and generative models to advance drug discovery projects. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dedicated, innovative team focused on addressing unmet medical needs.

What You'll Do

  • Determine novel cryo-EM and X-ray crystal structures of protein-small molecule and antigen-antibody complexes
  • Support day-to-day operations of the cryo-EM lab, including routine maintenance and instrument monitoring
  • Drive insights into mechanism of action and structure-function relationships for engineering
  • Utilize a multi-disciplinary approach including state-of-the-art biophysical and structural techniques
  • Evaluate external opportunities towards new experimental and de novo design computational approaches
  • Contribute to a fast-paced, innovative team pursuing unmet medical needs in neuroscience and rare diseases

Who You Are

You are passionate about structural biology and adept at leveraging structural insights to impact drug discovery projects. You thrive on learning new technological skills and excel in collaborative environments.

Required Skills

  • Ph.D. in Biochemistry, or a related discipline, with 2+ years post-Ph.D. experience
  • Expertise in single particle Cryo-EM, from sample preparation to 3D model building
  • Expertise in X-ray crystallography, from crystallization to 3D model building
  • Proven track record solving challenging membrane protein structures
  • Working experience with Linux and High Performance Computing clusters
  • Skilled in multi-body and focused refinement strategies for flexible complexes
  • Experience in leveraging structure-based generative models for protein design
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Additional Information

The base compensation range for this role is: $121,000.00-$162,000.00

Base salary offered is determined through an analytical approach utilizing a combination of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills & experience, job location, and internal equity.
