Postdoctoral Research Associate Agency Texas A&M Agrilife Research Department Ecology & Conservation Biology Proposed Minimum SalaryCommensurate Job LocationCollege Station, Texas Job TypeStaff Job Description Major/Essential Duties of Job Perform statistical analysis on fisheries and ecological datasets to assess the status and trends in Matagorda Bay; assess the reasons for these trends; mine a big database to understand changes in Texas Coast fisheries, and their causes Engage and educate the public, work with non-profit Pursue funding opportunities related to fisheries and coastal resilience. Pursue work on coastal resilience and remote sensing analyses. Other duties as assigned. Occasional Duties Assist with teaching efforts in coastal, fisheries, and other ecological coursework; perform service for professional organizations such as reviewing grants and journal articles, writing grants and expanding research into new areas. Required Education: Ph.D. in Ecology and Conservation Biology, or equivalent degree Preferred Education: Ph.D. in Ecology and Conservation Biology, Preferred Experience: Experience with R programming, statistical analysis of coastal datasets, understanding of population, community, and organismal ecology. Work with "big data" analysis, experience with wetlands and fisheries data specific to the Texas Coast, experience working with non-profits and conservation organizations. Required special knowledge, abilities, and skills: Good communication and computer skills. Ability to multi task and work cooperatively with others.
