Position Summary
RSI is recruiting for a Staff Geochemist who will under the direction of Project and Senior staff, support field and laboratory programs, analyze data, perform geochemistry evaluations, and prepare summary reports. Staff Geochemist will have introductory knowledge of geochemistry fundamentals and will assist Project and Senior staff in solving complex environmental problems. An expectation is that a Staff Geochemist will progressively develop geochemistry expertise while under the tutelage of Project and Senior Staff.

Hiring Range: $ 70,000.00 to $85,000.00 per year. (The anticipated starting salary is based on the posted minimum requirements for this position. The offered salary will be based upon the selected applicants education, training, and experience.)
This position is required to travel 10% of the time.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Under the direction or accompanied by Project and Senior Staff, attends meetings with LMS Managers and Site Leads, and LM Site Managers to discuss site-specific project needs.
- Supervised by Project and Senior Staff, develops scopes of work to address geochemical issues, and create associated budgets, schedules, and staffing plans to execute work.
- As directed by Project and Senior Staff, performs the acquisition, organization, and analysis of environmental field data, geochemical evaluations including modeling, statistical and geostatistical evaluations, and conceptual site model development. Will assist with numerical groundwater flow and reactive transport modeling and remedial design with assistance from Project and Senior Geochemists.
- As directed by Project and Senior Staff, develops project documents.
- As directed by Project and Senior Staff, prepares, and presents summary presentations.
- Support and mentor staff.
- Attend STEM events.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Years of Relevant Experience
- Masters in geology, engineering, geochemistry, or related physical sciences field
- No Minimum experience required. 5 years of relevant experience preferred.
Licenses and Certifications
- Valid Drivers License.
Required Skills and Abilities
- Developing knowledge of LM sites and programmatic history.
- Developing expertise in field characterization.
- Developing knowledge of well drilling, coring/sampling, and monitoring well installation.
- Developing expertise in data acquisition and evaluation.
- Preliminary understanding of tracer testing implementation and interpretation.
- Preliminary understanding of column test planning and implementation.
- Introductory knowledge of conceptual site model development.
- Introductory knowledge of laboratory oversight.
- Developing geochemical and reactive transport modeling skills with visualization and analysis technique knowledge.
- Developing knowledge of statistics and geo-statistics.
- Developing expertise in three-dimensional visualization and evaluation
- Developing expertise in programing and scripting.
- Introductory knowledge of geology, hydrogeology, geochemistry, and geophysics.
- Preliminary familiarity with remedial design and evaluation.
- Preliminary knowledge of regulations and standard requirements.
- Preliminary knowledge of groundwater flow and contaminant transport fundamentals.
- Ability to learn and implement integrated work control processes, readiness reviews, health and safety and field project closeouts.
- Ability to learn and implement project management functions (i.e., scope, schedule, and budget), including subcontractor oversight.

Essential Physical Requirements
Medium: Work involves moving objects by exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, or an above-negligible amount and up to 10 pounds constantly. Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for light work.
