General Purpose:
Manages RDi mineral processing laboratory operations including its testing programs and employees.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Safely manage the day-to-day operations of the laboratory, following OSHA and local regulations.
  • Develop and maintain laboratory standard operating procedures (SOPs) for proper sample receipt, sample preparation, and testing/processing.
  • Review requests for proposals (RFPs), formulate winning proposal strategies, build client relationships, and provide client management.
  • Develop laboratory test proposals for clients including detailed sample selection, test plans and scope of work based on client objectives.
  • Perform research on means, methods, and interpretation of results.
  • Perform laboratory tests.
  • Complete detailed written reports documenting test work and results.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ensure and promote project performance and quality standards.
  • Resource plan and forecast for laboratory projects.
  • Some travel, as needed, to client sites or to other company offices.
  • Responsibility for recruiting, training, mentoring, and retaining high-performance laboratory teams that align with the McCarls Business strategy, according to the Talent Advantage Roadmap.
  • Contribute to company initiatives and support the growth of other departments, including: Safety, Estimating, PreConstruction, Engineer & Design, Procurement, Commercial, Field Engineering, Project Engineering, Construction Management, and Quality.

Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor's degree in relevant Engineering or Science fields, such Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, Mining, Mineral processing.
  2. 15+ years of hands-on experience within a mineral processing laboratory.
  3. Technical Expertise: Experience and understanding of laboratory and commercial mineral processing unit operations.
  4. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize effectively.
  5. Ability to attain and promote good customer relationships (both internal and external).
  6. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  7. Excellent written and presentation skills and language.
  8. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  9. Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook.

This is a full time position
Salary Range: $85,000-$115,000
