Chemist - Analytical Method Development
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Chemist to perform routine analysis of finished pharmaceutical dosages and raw materials using approved analytical methodologies and specifications. The role involves designing and executing HPLC method transfer protocols, method validations, and writing detailed reports. You will support activities to develop analytical methods for assessing the purity, potency, and stability of drug substances and finished products.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine analysis of pharmaceutical dosages and raw materials.
- Design and execute method transfer protocols and validations.
- Write method transfer and validation reports.
- Design and execute cleaning validation protocols and final reports.
- Develop analytical methods to assess purity, potency, and stability.
- Conduct HPLC/GC analysis and prepare reagents and sample solutions.
- Operate and troubleshoot laboratory analytical instrumentation.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of work performed.
- Ensure testing adherence to schedules through team-oriented processes.
- Read and interpret USP, EP, JP compendial monographs and analytical methodology.
- Write SOPs, laboratory protocols, reports, memos, and interdepartmental correspondence.
- Train and provide guidance to other personnel, becoming a subject matter expert.
- Utilize root cause analysis tools and technical writing for laboratory investigations.
- Independently conduct and document laboratory investigations.
- Act as a backup for the laboratory supervisor.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in HPLC and Chemistry.
- 3-5 years of industry experience as a pharmaceutical chemist.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry.
- Experience in method development and method validation.
- Experience with small molecule pharmaceuticals.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Empower proficiency is a plus.
- Skills in data review.
Work Environment
Join a growing animal health pharma facility, working alongside 6-8 other chemists. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm. Engage in a collaborative environment where you will contribute to exciting projects and developments.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $50.00/hr.
