Amentum is seeking a dedicated Entry-Level Geologist, Staff Environmental Scientist, or Environmental Technician to join our Pittsburgh office. The ideal candidate will have 0-2 years of experience in the environmental field.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist project managers and other staff with daily project task execution.
  • Support field activities for environmental investigation, remediation, and construction for both private and government clients.
  • Execute environmental sampling programs, applying standardized field techniques and basic equipment to collect samples from soil, groundwater, soil gas, surface water, sediment, air, and potable water.
  • Review and reference project-specific plans, drawings, and specifications
  • Document field activities, complete forms, and perform data entry.
  • Assist with the operation and maintenance of remedial systems.
  • Maintain owned equipment inventory and manage scheduled maintenance.
  • Work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Field work may involve various weather conditions, rugged terrain, be able to carry 50 lbs, and the need for Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Qualifications:

  • 0-2 years of relevant experience in the environmental industry.
  • Valid driver license is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.) is beneficial.
  • Ability to follow project-specific safety protocols and company policies.
  • OSHA 40-Hour Training or refresher (provided if needed).
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and work in Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) clothing, including a respirator.
  • Availability for overnight travel (up to 50%), typically for less than one work week.
