Assistant Laboratory Director of Clinical Chemistry and Point of Care Testing - The Mount Sinai Hospital, New York. The Department of Pathology, Molecular & Cell-Based Medicine at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, within the Mount Sinai Health System, is seeking a highly qualified full-time clinical chemist for the Assistant or Associate Clinical Laboratory Director role. This position involves overseeing the high-complexity Clinical Chemistry and Point of Care Testing Laboratories at Mount Sinai Health System. This role offers the opportunity to join a prestigious institution renowned for its exceptional care and innovation. The successful candidate will interpret clinical tests and offer expertise in general chemistry, toxicology, immunology, blood gases, and mass spectrometry. Expertise and interest in Point of Care Testing are preferred, and candidates with this background will be given priority. Responsibilities also include quality management, regulatory compliance, teaching fellows and residents, and pursuing research. Additionally, the role involves managing two CLIA licenses for off-site lab services. A PhD, MD, or MD/PhD degree is required, along with board certification or eligibility in Clinical Chemistry (American Board of Clinical Chemistry) or Clinical Pathology (American Board of Pathology). New York State Certificate of Qualifications for applicable testing categories required. Located in New York City, the Mount Sinai Health System includes the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, the flagship Mount Sinai Hospital, and six additional hospitals in the New York Metropolitan Area.
