Job Description The Chemical Operator is responsible for operating chemical mixing and compounding equipment, pumps, valves, and hoses on a daily basis. The role involves transporting materials using sit-down forklifts and documenting activities according to batch sheets. The operator will weigh raw materials accurately and perform mathematical calculations to ensure proper proportions are used. Quality control checks on finished, in-process, and raw materials are also part of the daily tasks. Responsibilities
- Operate chemical mixing and compounding equipment, including pumps, valves, and hoses.
- Transport materials throughout the site using sit-down forklifts.
- Follow specific batch sheets and document all corresponding information.
- Accurately measure raw materials using specific measuring equipment.
- Perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division for correct material proportions.
- Conduct quality control checks on finished, in-process, and raw materials.
- Experience in blending and compounding.
- Ability to follow batch sheets, formulas, and instruction lists.
- Understanding of pumps and hoses used in previous roles, including hydraulic, air, and electric-powered types.
- Capability to operate production equipment that requires more than just pushing a button.
- Proficiency in mixing, blending, and compounding.
- High School Diploma, HSED, or GED.
- At least 2 years of experience in mixing, blending, or compounding.
- Alternatively, 2 years of experience as an operator in food, chemical, or pharmaceutical manufacturing.
