Job Summary:
An exciting opportunity exists at Raytheon Missiles & Defense (RMD) for a Principal FPA Process Development Engineer to join our focal plane array wafer process development fabrication team in the Advanced Microelectronics Solutions (AMS) Department.

As a member of the AMS Department, the individual in this role will join the focal plane array wafer fabrication development team and will be responsible for improving current structures, developing new structures, and proposing new areas to explore. The individual will also lead and execute process maturation efforts and interface with the production engineering team. In order to succeed at this role, the candidate should have a versatile background and experience in various aspects of wafer fabrication including two or more of the following areas: metals/dielectric deposition, etch, and photolithography. Presence on the foundry floor is essential for improving various processes and quick resolution of technical issues. A broad understanding of other aspects of semiconductor processing, metrology, device physics, and electrical testing is desirable. The role requires a large degree of multitasking with attention to detail while managing priorities depending on the nature of the problems. The ability to work well in small, cross-functional teams is essential. The role requires collaborative team work and communication of project status. Experience in design of experiments, hands-on process development, and project management skills are preferred.
This role will be 100% on-site and based in Andover , MA .
What You Will Do:
- Typically requires a Bachelors Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 Years of experience with:
- IR detection and Focal Plane Arrays
- Experience in semiconductor processing techniques including photo lithography, dry etching, metals evaporation, and inspections
- Experience in semiconductor process development
- The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer:
- MS or Ph.D. degree in engineering (such as chemical, materials science, electrical) or science (such as physics, chemistry) with a focus on semiconductors
- Semiconductor characterization including Scanning Electron Microscopy
- Broad knowledge related to semiconductor processing, device physics, and data analysis
- Experience with characterizing, understanding, and improving semiconductor device performance and reliability
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate complex ideas effectively
- Ability to lead and coordinate technical projects with cross-functional teams
- Ability to perform process development in the foundry on a wide array of process equipment

The salary range for this role is 101,000 USD - 203,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
