Key Responsibilities:
- Process and archive clinical specimens, including blood, nasal swabs, saliva, and bioaerosols
- Perform molecular biology and virology assays such as qRT-PCR, digital PCR, and virus culture from clinical samples
- Maintain cell culture using strict aseptic technique
- Adhere to biosafety regulations, standard operating protocols, and good laboratory practices
- Participate in other research projects and protocol development as needed
- Work on evening and weekend shifts
Required Application Materials Key Responsibilities:
- Bachelors degree in microbiology, cell biology, or related fields
- High attention to detail and ability to produce accurate, reliable results
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in research
Additional Information:
- Laboratory experience in virology, molecular biology, immunology, or related disciplines are preferred
- This is a full-time, non-tenure-track staff position with full benefits
- Guaranteed funding for 1 year, contingent on continued grant support
- Salary range: $50,000$60,000, or commensurate with education and experience
