Position Title: Lab Pack Chemist
Overview:
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and safety-focused Lab Pack Chemist to join their environmental services team. This role is essential in ensuring proper identification, packaging, transportation, and disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous materials in compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.
Responsibilities:
Identify, categorize, and segregate hazardous and non-hazardous wastes for proper disposal.
Perform lab packing of chemical wastes according to DOT, RCRA, EPA, and OSHA requirements.
Prepare, package, and label drums, lab packs, and bulk containers for transportation.
Operate company vehicles (CDL preferred) for transporting hazardous materials to approved disposal facilities.
Complete all required manifests, labels, and documentation with accuracy.
Conduct site audits for environmental compliance.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Communicate effectively with customers and internal teams to coordinate services.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
40-hour HAZWOPER certification (or willingness to obtain).
Knowledge of DOT, RCRA, and EPA hazardous waste regulations.
CDL Class B with Hazmat endorsement preferred.
Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to work in a physically demanding, fast-paced environment.
