Senior Principal Scientist R&D Nutrition

The Senior Principal Scientist in Nutrition will elevate the use of nutrition within and for the benefit of Kraft Heinz by autonomously leading and designing nutrition science platforms and provide strategic scientific thought leadership for current brands and future innovations.

Responsibilities

• Design, l ead and execute nutrition science platforms :

• Influence, design and execut e nutrition studies to deliver compelling product claims for the consumer to drive growth of brands through nutrition subject matter expertise

• Embrace an agile organization mindset

• Identify and d rive the a ssessment of business implications of emerging science and horizon scanning of ingredients and nutrition to:

• Develop science based positions and provide scientific guidance to stakeholders

• Identify research opportunities

• Influence external scientific opinions

• Lead scientific i ssues management

• Transfer nutrition knowledge through coaching and training of early career scientists

Relationships (External and Internal):

• Collaboration with internal cross function al teams, including R&D , M arketing, Regulatory , Legal , Government Affairs and Communications

• Establish ed network with academia and industry trade groups

Qualifications

• Minimum Masters degree in Nutrition or Life Sciences (PhD preferred)

• R egistered D ietitian a plus

• 8 + years experience in the food industry

• Solid p roficiency with nutrition claims substantiation and demonstrated application to products (food or supplements)

• Experience in the design and conducting of clinical research studies preferred

• Knowledge of North American food regulations (US and Canada) and nutrition policy

• Trade association experience is required

• Strong written and oral communication skills for technical and non technical audiences

• Excellent problem solving , influencing , organization and time management skills

• T ravel for external meetings and conferences as indicated

New Hire Base Salary Range:

Bonus: This position is eligible for a performance-based bonus as provided by the plan terms and governing documents.
