Job Description

- Research, develop and implement materials, tools and processes to improve coating performance

- Support and/or lead new product development efforts using knowledge of materials, chemistry and processing

- Serve as a technical support and quality expert during new product quote and launch

- Provide troubleshooting support to coating processes and implement effective countermeasures

- Participate in the development of product specifications

- Lead or participate in root cause identification and corrective actions

- Perform customer visits

- Oversee and analyze quality control test results and provide feedback

- Calibrate, troubleshoot, and maintain laboratory and measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, and hardness testers

- Produce timely and accurate calibration documents, including reports, schedules, and reference charts

- Identify critical points in the manufacturing process and specify sampling procedures

- Collect and analyze production samples to evaluate quality

- Assist in working with coating and chemical vendors to overcome quality issues

- Instruct and train production teams in quality control, use of testing equipment and analytical procedures

- Produce reports regarding nonconformance of products or processes, daily production quality, root cause analyses, or quality trends

- Prepare standard work procedures in support of the Companys continuous improvement effort

- Review statistical studies, technological advances, or regulatory standards

Must Have

- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering OR 5+ years of related experience within the Steel Industry/Coil Processing industry

- Previous Quality Engineering and Process Engineering experience

Nice to Have

- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering preferably

- Ability to generate results from various laboratory instruments

- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications

- ISO 9001 experience

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $36.00 - $41.00/hr.
