THE OPPORTUNITY

Abbott Rapid Diagnostics is part of Abbotts Diagnostics family of businesses, bringing together exceptional teams of experts and industry leading technologies to support diagnostic testing which provides important information for treatment and management of diseases and other conditions.

The position of QC Technician is within our Toxicology Business United located at Santa Rosa, CA at Redwood Toxicology Lab. This role will be instrumental in supporting production to the provision of accurate and timely results to our clients. The ideal candidate will be a dedicated individual, a cross-functional team-player, and adept at multitasking. In addition to possessing a strong attention to detail and capable following verbal instructions and written protocols to complete assigned tasks. Duties and responsibilities are listed below. Other duties may be assigned.

Schedule: Monday thru Friday 8am to 4:30pm, with possible Over-Time

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs daily Quality Control tasks as assigned by Supervisor
  • Communicates timelines & reports issues as they arise
  • Prepares solutions, standards, and samples
  • Analyzes, calculates, records, and reports data
  • Packages approved solutions as indicated in the SOP
  • Takes Inventory of stock standards, solutions, & reagents
  • Ensures test solutions are available to production area without interruption
  • Cleans up and maintains equipment and analytical area
  • Documents quality control activities using GDP
  • Assists in investigations of production and quality control issues
  • May support in creation/optimization of quality control documentation & process
  • Supports production as needed
  • Prepares and sets out proficiency samples for testing

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS | EDUCATION:

  • 1-2 years of related experience in GMP manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of LC/MS/MS & GC/MS
  • Competent in aliquoting
  • Read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and/or government regulatory guidelines. Ability to read reports, effectively present information, and respond to questions from peers and management.
  • Ability to apply mathematical concepts such as dilutions, fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Experience:

  • A Bachelors Degree in Life Science from a four-year college or university. Prefer Chemistry, Biology or related field of study.
  • The candidate should have a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook; Experience using Databases & Instrumentation Software a plus.

The base pay for this position is

$22.05 $44.15/hour
