- Collect data by measuring and recording operating conditions such as pumping rates, pH, Oxidation Reduction Potential (ORP), temperature, and pressure.
- Operate and perform light maintenance on small-scale equipment like pumps, heaters, and mixers.
- Prepare samples for testing and reagents for in-house lab analyses.
- Conduct various laboratory analyses including dissolved oxygen, color, temperature, ORP, alkalinity, hardness, suspended solids, dissolved solids, chemical oxygen demand, total organic carbon, turbidity, and phosphorus/phosphate.
- Pull samples for third-party laboratory analysis.
- Maintain reagents and lab inventory, calibration records for lab equipment, and SDS documentation for lab chemicals and reagents.
- Manage and communicate data effectively.
- Ensure cleanliness of lab equipment and operating areas.
- Proficiency in laboratory, chemistry, and wet chemistry.
- Ability to work precisely in solution making, with measuring devices, data handling, and instrument operation.
- Experience with standard laboratory instruments such as pH, TSS, probes for measuring process variables, HACH spectrophotometer, analytical balances, and volumetric glassware.
- Instrumentation experience, preferably with ICP, GC, and HPLC.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Physics, Biology, or related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Demonstrate initiative and willingness to learn and grow in responsibility.
- Detail-oriented and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong communication skills to interact with team members and handle chemical data and procedures.
The work schedule may involve staggered shifts for lab experiments as operations ramp up, potentially including rotating and night shifts. Weekend coverage may be required at peak times.
