Description

In February 2015, LabCorp purchased Covance Drug Development for $6 billion, which immediately made LabCorp the worlds leading health care diagnostics and drug development company. This local facility is their central laboratory for testing services and bioanalysis services. Currently their Safety Testing Team is actively seeking a new Medical Lab Scientist to join their group long-term.Job Duties/Responsibilities: - Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.- Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures. - Monitor operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality. - Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving. - Prepare test and evaluate new reagents or controls. - Report accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care. - Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures. - Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary. - Assist with processing of specimens when needed. - Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipmentAdditional Job Details:- Testing production samples on chemistry and Automated Immunology platforms. - This Tech role is for IVDR remediation support. - Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria. - Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures.

Technical Skill Requirements: 1) Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology or related field2) Minimum 1+ years of experience working in a CLIA certified or CAP accredited lab (this experience could be elsewhere if they have a clinical degree)3) Instrument troubleshooting and calibration experience Nice To Have Technical Skills:1) ASCP or AMT certification is preferred2) Prior validation experience 3) Proficient with computers and familiarity with laboratory information systems is a plus Soft Skill Requirements: 1) Ability to work independently and within a team environment. 2) High level of attention detail along with strong communication and organizational skills3) Must be able to pass a standardized color vision screen4) Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $36.00/hr.
