The role will support production by performing essential data analysis, variant interpretation and reporting functions. The Clinical Genomic Scientist is also responsible for significant contributions and timely completion of product development milestones established by the CLD and management. Both development and production will require the Clinical Genomic Scientist to have deep working knowledge across biotechnology, genetic pathology, computational sciences and clinical laboratory operations.Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions: This role is responsible for the efficient and quality execution of writing interpretative variant-, gene-, clinical- and patient-level language for genetic test reports. This includes analysis and critical evaluation of clinical sequencing data and available scientific evidence in accordance with standard operating procedures.Interpret germline, somatic and cfDNA sequence variants from patient samples within the context of inherited and acquired conditions to determine their clinical significance Evaluate variant function, potential clinical impact and genotype-phenotype relationships for neurological and oncological disorders using scientific literature and available genomic tools Write clear, communicable reports based on test results Perform quality control of variant and clinical analysis, interpretations and completed reports Troubleshoot dynamic and spontaneous issues related to job function. Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions May assist in the design, execution, and analysis of experiments under the guidance of senior researchers. Conduct experiments, collect data, and assist in analyzing and may interpret results using appropriate tools and methodologies. Maintain accurate and detailed records of experimental procedures, results, and observations in compliance with regulatory standards. Ensure proper maintenance of laboratory equipment, inventory management, and adherence to safety protocols. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, effectively communicating experimental procedures, results, and insights. May support senior scientists in reviews, experimental setup, and troubleshooting. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Hands-on experience in a laboratory setting, preferably in a research or academic environment. Familiarity with laboratory techniques, instrumentation, and scientific methodologies related to the field. Ability to collect, analyze, experimental data using appropriate software or statistical tools. Strong attention to detail in conducting experiments, recording observations, and maintaining documentation. Willingness to learn new techniques and adapt to changing research needs. Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment, contributing positively to collective goals. Aptitude for troubleshooting experimental issues and proposing potential solutions. Clear and concise communication skills for presenting findings and interacting with team members.
