Scheduled Hours 40 Position Summary Division of Anatomic and Molecular Pathology (AMP) in the Department of Pathology and Immunology is seeking an organized and detail-oriented research assistant/research coordinator to provide essential administrative support for clinical and translational research projects in the division, which may include retrospective studies on archived tissue, correlative studies between clinical and pathologic data, among others. The candidate will assist with data collection and management, report preparation, and research compliance. Job Description Primary Duties & Responsibilities: Research Materials Retrieval and Tracking Retrieve tissue blocks and histology slides for projects, and keep track of the materials. Return the materials when studies are completed. Data Collection Identify research cases from institutional databases based on inclusion and exclusion criteria to identify cases eligible for research projects. Collect, organize, and maintain research data. Establishes record-keeping systems. Pull data from pathology reports and electronic medical records. Ensure data privacy, integrity and accuracy. Facilitate Research Requests Maintain a database of active research projects in the division. Performs other duties as assigned. Working Conditions: Job Location/Working Conditions Patient care setting. Office environment. Laboratory environment. Physical Effort Typically sitting at desk or table. Depending on projects, this position may work in a laboratory environment with potential exposure to biological and chemical hazards and the need to wear personal protective equipment.
