The scientist will be a member of a team providing support for the early-stage pipeline of small molecule (SM) and protein therapeutics.

responsibilities:
- Characterize small molecule (SM)-protein and protein-protein interactions using Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR) and Bio-Layer Interferometry (BLI) technologies.
- Perform assay development, hit characterization, and hit ranking for interaction studies.
- Design and execute kinetic and affinity binding assays using SPR instruments (e.g., Cytiva/Biacore) and BLI instruments (e.g., Sartorius Octet, GatorBio).
- Utilize additional biophysical techniques, such as:
- nanoDSF (Differential Scanning Fluorimetry): to assess protein stability.
- TRIC (Temperature-Related Intensity Change) / spectral shift assays: to analyze biomolecular interactions.
- Operate liquid handling automation platforms, including:
- Bravo platform: for high-throughput liquid handling.
- ECHO acoustic dispenser: for contactless and precise sample transfer.
- Independently plan and execute scientific experiments, including defining project timelines, milestones, methodologies, and resource requirements.
- Analyze and interpret scientific data; regularly document and communicate experimental progress and results.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with other scientists and teams to advance research objectives.
- Stay up to date with current developments in biophysics, protein interaction analysis, and relevant technologies through literature and conferences.
- Provide subject-matter expertise to supervisors and colleagues; participate in scientific meetings at the national and international level.
- Contribute to publications, patent applications, and regulatory submissions by delivering high-quality scientific results.
- Mentor and support research associates and laboratory assistants in scientific and technical tasks.
qualifications:
- A focus on kinetics and binding affinity characterization with experience using Carterra Biacore SPR and/or Sartorius BLI instruments.
- Proven track record of academic accomplishments (i.e., peer-reviewed publications and/or patents)
- Demonstration of good lab practices, with particular attention to safety
- Clear understanding of binding experiments as well as a general knowledge of related methods and data fitting computer applications.
- Attendance to one of David Myszkas label free workshops.
- Excellent communication skills (both written and oral)
