Protein Biochemist

Immediate opportunity for a Biochemist to assist with protein purification from plant and bacterial systems. This position requires a solid understanding of protein expression, purification, and characterization, as well as the ability to collaborate effectively within a team.

This is a fully onsite position in St. Louis, MO. Local candidates are preferred as relocation cost reimbursement is not available for this opportunity.

salary: $28 - $32 per hour
shift: First
work hours: 8 AM - 5 PM
education: Bachelors

Responsibilities

What you will do:

• Assist in the purification of proteins from plant and bacterial systems
• Conduct protein expression, purification, and characterization experiments
• Utilize various protein analysis methods including concentration determination, SDS-PAGE, and Western blot analysis
• Employ chromatography techniques for effective protein separation
• Collaborate with team members to achieve project goals and deadlines
• Maintain accurate records of experiments and results

Must Have:

• B.S. degree in Biochemistry, Biology, or a related field
• 1-3 years of relevant laboratory experience
• Knowledge of protein expression and purification techniques
• Proficiency in protein analysis methods such as SDS-PAGE and Western blotting
• Familiarity with chromatography techniques
• Problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
