Job Description

Performing a wide range of general laboratory support operations in the Molecular and Cell Biology Services group; coordinating the receipt and inventory log entry of reagents and supplies; maintaining inventory logs for necessary reagents and supplies; performing daily equipment status monitoring; assisting in the routine maintenance of general laboratory equipment

Qualifications

Applies GMP/GLP in all areas of responsibility, as appropriate

Demonstrates and promotes the company vision

Regular attendance and punctuality

Coordinate the receipt and entry of reagents and supplies into the department inventory log

Maintain inventory logs for necessary reagents and supplies and communicate those logs to the appropriate individuals

Assist appropriate personnel in the location of and eventual removal of reagents and supplies from the active laboratory population when expired or exhausted

Assist in the routine maintenance of general laboratory equipment including biological safety cabinets, incubators, refrigerators, waterbaths, centrifuges, and platewashers

Assist in the proper disposal of laboratory generated waste

Ability to access and use computer programming including PC software

Conducts all activities in a safe and efficient manner

Performs other duties as assigned

Basic Minimum Qualifications (BMQ): To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements below are representative of the knowledge, skill or ability required. Education/Experience (BMQ): High school diploma or equivalent

Ability and/or Skills (BMQ): Reasoning skills, including logical thinking and deductive reasoning; good work habits (i.e., cleanliness, efficiency, cautiousness); accuracy in transcribing information; personal maturity and sense of responsibility; good oral and written communication skills; ability to learn new tasks, willingness to follow instructions and comply with company policies; consciuosness of, and a positive attitude toward quality control and safety procedures; good organizational skills; self motivated to improve; ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously; problem solving ability; retain important information and function under medium stress levels; ability to work well with others and as part of a team
