General Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Associate Production Scientist I to join our team in the manufacturing of high-quality diagnostic products. This entry-level scientific role is responsible for executing key production processes with accuracy and consistency, supporting the delivery of reliable diagnostic solutions. The ideal candidate has a foundational background in the life sciences, strong technical skills, and a collaborative mindset.
Key Responsibilities:
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and standardized work instructions.
- Ensure accurate material usage and maintain inventory records.
- Prepare controls and standards for in-process testing.
- Perform functional testing on in-process and finished products.
- Operate and perform routine maintenance on automated and semi-automated production equipment.
- Utilize laboratory equipment, including pH meters, balances, and spectrophotometers.
- Qualify raw materials and reagents used in production.
- Prepare buffers, critical reagents, and diagnostic kit components.
- Process, report, and analyze quantitative data; track and trend performance metrics.
- Support troubleshooting efforts and root cause analysis for production and equipment issues.
- Draft and review SOPs and other quality documentation.
- Identify, document, and segregate non-conforming materials or products.
- Collaborate on cross-functional teams and support interdepartmental initiatives.
- Assist R&D in product transfers including pilot production and scale-up activities.
- Fulfill material requests in coordination with Technical Support and Product Development teams.
- Execute and document validation activities.
- Complete quality system documentation accurately and on time.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelors Degree in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related scientific discipline required.
Skills & Experience:
- Exceptional attention to detail with a commitment to quality and accuracy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word; experience with laboratory information systems (LIMS) a plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to convey technical data across departments.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and process improvement preferred.
- Team-oriented with the ability to work independently when needed.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in both laboratory and office settings.
- Able to stand for extended periods of time.
- Proficient in using computers for data entry and analysis over extended durations.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds regularly.
