Overview
Advanced Technologies and Laboratories (ATL), a Planned Systems International (PSI) company, is hiring for a Scientist Associate in Richland, WA.
This position will support Navarro-ATL. Navarro-ATL is located in Richland, WA and operates, manages, and maintains the 222-S Laboratory Complex for the Department of Energy. Navarro-ATL members are Navarro Research and Engineering, Inc. (Oak Ridge, TN), and Advanced Technologies and Laboratories International (Gaithersburg, MD).
Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities
The Scientist Associate is responsible for conducting scientific or analytical studies in support of 222-S Laboratory operations and developing conventional scientific solutions to technical tasks activities and objectives. The successful candidate will perform a variety of scientific duties, including but not limited to, performing scientific calculations, preparing specifications, process control support and data quality, performing technical reviews of analytical results, and preparing reports and tables. May direct activities of Chemical Technologists/Sample Custodians.
Accept delegated responsibility for a limited phase of a technical project or program.
Identify, collect, and review technical information relevant to the quality of the analytical data/reports.
Assist in the evaluation and/or review of analytical results using standard techniques and procedures.
Prepare analytical reports and data tables for internal and external customers.
Assist in development of processes/technical procedures.
Prepare, deliver, and submit technical presentations to analytical operations groups.
Operate under strict deadlines; plan, organize, and manage activities in assigned areas to meet Laboratory and client schedules.
Verify and comply with scientific documentation standards and procedures.
Demonstrate problem-solving skills in making preliminary selections and adaptations of scientific alternatives.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's Degree (BS) in Chemistry or other related scientific discipline.
Attention to detail and excellent customer service skills.
Excellent written communication skills.
Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
Must be able to qualify as radiological worker.
Desired Qualifications
Bachelor's degree (BS) in Chemistry or scientific discipline and 2 years directly related experience.
Knowledge of laboratory analytical methods/techniques.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Word and Excel).
Compensation
Grade 14: $77,969 - $91,975
Grade 16: $88,200 - $111,100
The grade level offered to the selected candidate will be based on business needs and the candidate's education, training, and/or relevant experience.
