Come work at Amazon! Innovation is part of our DNA!

Our goal is to be Earth's most customer centric company, and we are just getting started. We seek professionals who are eager to join an ambitious project that continues to push the state of the art in satellite system design, test. verification, and operation.

Project Kuiper is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world.

Key job responsibilities
We are looking for an excellent engineer who combines superb technical and analytical capabilities with a demonstrated ability to get the right things done quickly and effectively. You will work with a team of top-notch electrical engineers and will collaborate with multiple spacecraft design, integration, test, and operations teams. You should be comfortable with a high degree of ambiguity and relish the idea of solving problems that haven't been solved at scale before. Along the way, we guarantee that you will learn a lot, have fun, and make a positive impact on tens of millions of people.

Key responsibilities include:
Work within the Electrical & Test engineering team(s) to develop, test, and deliver hardware subsystems for the flight computer, power delivery, RF systems, and sensing systems on the satellite avionics bus.
Support hardware development milestones, including architecture reviews, requirement reviews, hardware design reviews, build release reviews, test results reviews, and flight release reviews.
Partner with cross-functional teams including antenna & RF engineering, mechanical engineering, software, test, integration, reliability, compliance/regulatory, manufacturing, program management, etc.
Design PCBAs including schematic capture and layout.
Develop and lead bring up, design validation, reliability, and qualification testing.
Develop and lead production acceptance test plan development.
Support debug efforts for your subsystem as well as other avionics subsystems.
Support requirement derivation and traceability for hardware subsystems.
Support production and integration efforts for hardware subsystems.
Supporting on-orbit operation and troubleshooting of avionics bus subsystems.
Participate in design reviews for subsystems within the broader team.

If this sounds like the role for you, come make history with us!

Export Control Requirement:
Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

A day in the life
You will lead a variety of tasks for your hardware subsystem, from board design, to board bring-up, design validation, and integration. You will work with a cross functional team to perform design validation and qualification testing for your subsystem. As your subsystem is built in production, you will support manufacturing test engineering in diagnosis of issues at the contract manufacturers and through acceptance testing. As your subsystem continues onto satellite level test and operations, you will be the subject matter expert that interfaces with the vehicle integration & test and operations teams from test planning through and launch and on orbit operations. As an experienced member of the team, you will be responsible for evaluating hardware health telemetry across test and operations while also developing processes to troubleshoot and to incorporate design improvements for issues discovered.

About the team
Our team is responsible for delivering hardware subsystems for the flight computer, power delivery, RF, and sensing systems on the satellite avionics bus. Our team supports hardware subsystems development from initial design through testing, integration, verification, and operation on-orbit.
