AWS Compliance & Security Assurance is seeking an experienced Software Development Engineer II to drive the evolution of our enterprise-scale compliance artifact management platform. This role offers the opportunity to architect and implement solutions that secure and streamline AWS's global compliance operations.

We build mission-critical compliance platforms that protect and power AWS's global operations. Our flagship product is a sophisticated platform managing sensitive compliance artifacts across AWS's worldwide infrastructure. We operate at massive scale, handling thousands of compliance artifacts daily while ensuring strict security controls. Our team emphasizes innovation, especially in applying GenAI for intelligent automation of compliance workflows, advanced search capabilities, and predictive analytics.

As a Software Development Engineer II in this team, you will be at the forefront of architecting and implementing secure, scalable solutions that transform how AWS manages compliance. You'll work with emerging technologies including GenAI, collaborate with compliance and security experts, and have significant impact on AWS's global security posture.

Key job responsibilities
Own and drive major features of our compliance platform, including design, implementation, and operational excellence
Architect scalable solutions for artifact management, metadata handling, and access control systems
Lead the integration of GenAI technologies to automate compliance workflows, enhance search capabilities, and enable intelligent artifact classification
Design and implement secure microservices that handle sensitive compliance data at AWS scale
Mentor team members and contribute to architectural decisions that shape the future of compliance automation
Drive operational excellence through monitoring, alerting, and automated incident response
Collaborate with compliance and security teams to translate complex requirements into elegant technical solutions

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
- Experience with GenAI technologies including prompt engineering, RAG patterns, and LLM integration, with ability to implement AI-powered features/Agentic AI systems with appropriate security guardrails in enterprise applications

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
