FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH - OPEN COMPETITIVE OPPORTUNITY
Your Specific Responsibilities:
a. Assist with creating COVID-19 educational materials with professional societies.
b. Assist with providing education and training to facilities with suspected COVID-19 outbreaks and/or infection control breaches.
c. Serve as subject matter experts on engaging, educating, and training health care facilities, county health departments, professional societies, and other community partners on infectious disease threats and IPC practices in health care settings.
d. Performs other related duties as assigned.
e. Respond to ReadyOp requests for conducting IPC assessments in respective regions as requested.
f. Conduct continual outreach to LTCFs to identify ongoing/new IPC needs.
g. Conduct ICAR assessments among health care facilities (e.g., dialysis, LTCFs, dental, outpatient, hospitals), school settings, rehabilitation centers and additional group settings as needed and identified each month in each region.
h. Provide dedicated COVID-19 ICAR assessment assistance in counties.
i. Provide written report with recommendations within 72 hours of the completed assessment to the facility.
j. Conduct follow-up assessment (on site or telephone) within three weeks of completed report to evaluate the implementation of recommendations.
k. Provide additional support for regional trainings and education.
l. Work with health care facilities including, but not limited to, LTCFs, dialysis facilities, dental and outpatient care facilities for improving outbreak detection and reporting.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
knowledge of COVID-19, CDC/NHSN, OSHA, CMS infection prevention and control standards; skilled in effective teaching methods to provide recommendations and IPC best practices?
Qualifications:
Minimum masters degree or higher in healthcare, public health, nursing, or related fields with a minimum of 4 years of experience or licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Florida, with 5 years of experience.
Preferred 4 relevant infection prevention and control experience.
