BlueHalo, an AV company, has an opportunity available for a Materials Scientist to join our Multifunctional Composites Performance Team at the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) to support ongoing work and collaborations involving MXenes. This role involves investigating the mechanisms and kinetics of their synthesis, as well as applying a variety of analytical techniques for their characterization.
Overview:
The position focuses on the processing and characterization of MXene and multifunctional composites. The ideal candidate will have a background in materials science, with an emphasis in the processing and characterization of MXenes. Knowledge of thin film and single particle characterization preferred. The position requires working closely with government and contract researchers within the research team and with other research teams. We are particularly interested in an experienced, adaptable, and capable individual with a Ph.D. in Materials Science.
Requirements:
- Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering
- Minimum 2 years post Ph.D. work experience
- 6 years of experience specifically working with MXenes, their synthesis and characterization
- Experienced with: XPS, IR spectroscopy, XRD, SEM/EDS, DSC, TGA, UV-Vis, Raman, profilometry
- Must have current CAC and access to WPAFB
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
