Summary/Objective: The Process Design & Development Engineer will focus on defining the manufacturing strategy during the new product development cycle, which includes anticipating risks associated with new methods and materials, establishing scalable assembly techniques, identifying critical process metrics, and ensuring Production readiness at release. Essential Functions/ Responsibilities:- Support New Product Introduction (NPI) by characterizing the assembly process during the design and development cycle.
- Conduct Design for Manufacturing (DFM) reviews of new products and tooling.
- Create Value Stream Maps (VSM) based on expected manufacturing strategy.
- Identify Key Process Indicators (KPI) to establish process control and monitoring.
- Review development builds and output data to determine process capability and efficiency.
- Perform and analyze Gage R&R studies to verify measurement methods.
- Establish process routings and complete time studies to verify labor rates.
- Create and execute Test Plans to qualify new tooling and processes.
- Serve as Technical Lead for all process-related questions and issues encountered during design review and development.
- 3+ years experience in Process Engineering, Product Development, Mechanical Design or equivalent
- Familiarity with Project Management terminology and methodology
- Computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite and data analysis software
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, creative mindset
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, including multi-tasking and managing priorities
- Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or equivalent is required.
