Agilent's Companion Diagnostics (CDx) business partners closely with leading pharmaceutical companies to develop, manufacture and commercialize in vitro diagnostic devices, which are a critical part of precision medicine. We are looking for a dedicated Research Associate to join our team. You've got the practical experience and broad knowledge. This is your opportunity to plan and execute experiments to develop CDx assays and provide solutions, learning continuously through ongoing training and on-the-job experience.

You will work in a cross-functional team dedicated to the design and development of CDx assays in a highly regulated environment.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Perform a wide variety of research and/or development engineering or scientific support, laboratory tasks, and/or experiments focused on IHC and/ or ISH assay development activities.

  • Perform troubleshooting and calibration of instruments, or work in close collaboration with lab support personnel.

  • Maintain records (e.g. lab notebooks, instrumentation run sheets) to comply with regulatory requirements, good manufacturing practices, and standard operating procedures.

  • Contribute to the generation of protocols, reports, and publications.

  • Participate in evaluating and reporting experimental results.

  • Solve technical design problems.

  • Participate as a key contributor in project teams.

  • Recommend design or process changes and/ or formulate techniques to enhance performance (CIPS), manufacturability, and reusability.

  • With training and coaching, increase understanding of histology, pathology, and assay development.

Qualifications
  • BS/BA in Biology, Biochemistry, or related field, or equivalent education and experience.

  • 12+ years of research experience in academic or industry settings.

  • Preferred background in IHC scoring, histology, or pathology lab research.

  • Familiarity with biological techniques such as immunohistochemistry, molecular biology, in situ hybridization, fluorescence methods, protein biochemistry, cell biology, and microscopy.

  • Knowledge of Quality System regulations, including Design Control.

  • Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Collaborative, creative, and detail-oriented with excellent organizational abilities.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Able to work efficiently with focus and accuracy.

This job has a full time weekly schedule. Applications for this job will be accepted until at least August 4, 2025 or until the job is no longer posted.The full-time equivalent pay range for this position is $71,048.00 - $111,013.00/yr plus eligibility for bonus, stock and benefits. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
