The Center for Simulation & Immersive Learning at the Johns Hopkins School of Nursing is seeking a Research Associate to support cutting-edge research in simulation and immersive learning. This position focuses on the development, implementation, and evaluation of multiple forms of technology for healthcare education, including XR interfaces and AI-driven solutions to enhance educational experiences and outcomes.

Brief Overview of Responsibilities:

Research Development:

+ Design, execute, and assess research projects related to simulation, immersive learning, XR interfaces, and artificial intelligence applications in educational settings.

+ Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to explore innovative methodologies and approaches in the field of immersive learning.

Technical Implementation:

+ Develop and integrate XR interfaces, simulations, and AI tools that facilitate engaging learning experiences for users.

+ Utilize programming languages and software tools to create and maintain prototypes and functional models.

Data Collection and Analysis:

+ Conduct qualitative and quantitative research, including surveys, user testing, and performance assessments.

+ Analyze data using statistical methods and software to evaluate the effectiveness of research initiatives and iteratively improve learning tools.

- Documentation and Reporting:

+ Prepare comprehensive research reports, publications, and presentations to communicate findings and disseminate knowledge to academic and professional communities.

+ Document methodologies, protocols, and best practices for future reference and training purposes.

Collaboration and Networking:

+ Build and maintain partnerships with faculty, staff, and external stakeholders involved in simulation and immersive learning research.

+ Participate in conferences, workshops, and seminars to present research outcomes and foster collaborative opportunities.

Continuous Learning and Development:

+ Stay current with advancements in simulation technology, XR, and AI to inform research practices and contribute to a culture of innovation within the Center.

PhD in Biomedical Engineering or Computer Science

Salary: $55,000-60,000
