Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated in vivo biologist to join our Circuit Biology team within Discovery Psychiatry. The successful candidate will play a key role in facilitating insights of circuit dysfunction in psychiatric disorders and treatment. This is an excellent opportunity to work at the forefront of psychiatry drug discovery research, contributing to target validation and compound profiling studies within a dynamic and collaborative team.
Key Responsibilities
+ Independently conceive, execute, and communicate original technical ideas and novel multi-disciplinary research that achieves project and area goals.
+ Drive internal in vivo rodent electroencephalography (EEG) efforts by developing and optimizing recording strategies
+ Develop and maintain in vivo behavior and EEG technology, methodology, and utility in psychiatric drug discovery.
+ Generate, through lab-based activities EEG and behavioral endpoints to support projects
+ Ensure alignment of efforts with the broader goals of cross-functional teams
+ Present findings to internal teams and external collaborators or conferences
+ Contribute to strategic decision-making in psychiatry drug discovery
+ Provide scientific guidance and training to junior scientists and research associates
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
+ Bachelors Degree or equivalent education and typically, 10 years of experience, Masters Degree or equivalent education and typically 8 years of experience, PhD and no experience necessary.
+ Extensive experience in rodent EEG surgical techniques, recordings, and analyses.
+ Demonstrated expertise in the design and execution of hypothesis-driven studies related to synaptic and circuit function
+ Ability to process and interpret large datasets using appropriate software tools
+ Strong ability to work in cross-functional teams and effectively communicate scientific finding
+ Desired Qualifications
+ Previous industry experience within early discovery, preferably within psychiatry research
+ Expertise in rodent behavioral models and preclinical models for anxiety and depressive disorders, and/or schizophrenia
+ Track record of impactful publications

+ The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range.
