Your role and responsibilities

IBM is seeking a Process Engineer for a position at T. J. Watson Research Center in Yorktown Heights, NY. The ideal candidate will possess working knowledge of plasma processing and plasma-surface interactions, and hands-on experience with semiconductor wafer processing including operation of dry etch and strip chambers, preparation of blanket films and patterned wafers for dry etch qualification and materials characterization methods for pre-and post-processing measurements. The Process Engineer will be responsible for assisting in the development of processes and fabrication technologies for novel computing device prototypes and for monitoring and maintaining process equipment in an advanced prototyping environment. Additional critical requirements: ability to analyze and interpret process data, to present findings in technical review meetings, and to interact with internal clients and interdisciplinary expert teams in order to understand needs and develop timely and creative solutions.

Required education Bachelor's Degree Preferred education Master's Degree Required technical and professional expertise

Hands on experience with semiconductor processing including dry etch and strip processing, wet chemistry for surface preparation / cleaning and materials analysis techniques. B.S. in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry or Physics or equivalent experience.

Preferred technical and professional experience

Hands on experience with semiconductor processing at manufacturing and / or research fab. Familiarity with statistical process monitoring and solid understanding of plasma physics and transport / surface phenomena.
