Duties Description Prepare laboratory samples by lipid extraction and florisil chromatography cleanup to enable the laboratory analysis of fish and wildlife samples for chemical contaminants, especially PCBs and organochlorine pesticides.

Dissect and homogenize fish samples.

Prepare interim and draft laboratory reports.

Minimum Qualifications 1.Satisfactory Completion of 60 semester credit hours of college coursework which includes at least 18 semester credit hours in biology, chemistry, physics, health science or science technology;

OR

  1. Two (2) years of satisfactory experience in either a laboratory or a clinical setting performing technical laboratory test and procedures;

OR

  1. Satisfactory equivalent combination of options 1 and 2, equaling 2 years. College study will be credited in six-month segments, with 15 semester credit hours equaling six months. Credits must include at least 18 semester credit hours in biology, chemistry, physics, health science, or science technology.

Additional Comments This is a hourly appointment currently funded through 3/31/2026, with a likelihood of continuing beyond that date. Program needs and funding will determine actual termination date.

Must have a valid driver's license or demonstrate the ability to meet the transportation needs of the position.

Must be able to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds.
