How you will make history here
Under the direction of the Laboratory Manager, perform all routine laboratory analyses pertaining to the Campbells Analytical Laboratory. Operate analytical instrumentation and accurately calculate results in accordance with the Quality Manual. In addition, the Chemist may also supervise the activities of laboratory technicians and junior chemists.
What you will do
Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot all analytical equipment including GC/MS, GC/MS/MS, LC/MS/MS, and ICP/MS.
Identify and quantify compounds of interest and unknowns with both accuracy and precision.
Knowledge of standard multiresidue pesticide methodology, heavy metals testing, allergen testing by Elisa, Acrylamide and Capsaicin.
Ensure compliance with all plant, corporate, local, state, and federal regulatory standards.
Validate methods, maintain multi-level standard and prepare reference solutions.
A detail oriented, team player with strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills. A customer focused decision maker, multitasking with good judgement, competent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
Works with complex instrumentation and data collection tools.
Demonstrates excellent work ethics and behaviors with strong sense of ownership and passion for end results.
Knowledge of standard multiresidue pesticide methodology, heavy metals testing, allergen testing by Elisa, and general bench chemistry.
Ability to proactively identify and address concerns or issues that may affect or improve Food Safety, Product Quality, Key Stakeholder and Customer Expectations.
The Chemist will have project management ability and be able to take on key projects, i.e. LIMS (LabVantage), laboratory accreditation and plant lab support.
Supervisory responsibilities may include scheduling and reviewing daily work of laboratory technicians, keeping regard to priority samples and scheduled turnaround
times.

What you bring to the table (Must Have)
Bachelors degree in chemistry
5+ years of experience in a laboratory work environment.
Working knowledge of analytical equipment, in particular Agilent instrumentation.
It would be great if you have (Nice to Have)
Bachelors degree in chemistry, Forensic, Toxicology or related discipline.
5+ years of experience in analytical or contract laboratory.
Excellent knowledge of residue testing requirements and analytical equipment operations.
Strong drive and initiative to make improvements in a variety of areas with a minimum of supervision.
Knowledge of laboratory accreditation for ISO/IEC 17025:2017.
Compensation and Benefits:
The target base salary range for this full-time, salaried position is between
$66,600-$95,800Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. Total pay may include other forms of compensation. In addition, we offer competitive health, dental, 401k and wellness benefits beginning on the first day of employment.
