Quality Control Technician

This position will be responsible for in-process and final inspection of machined parts prior to assembly by conducting a variety of dimensional, visual, electronic, and nondestructive tests to ensure it meets and/or functions according to specifications. Our parts have tight tolerances and are made of high-performance plastic. Tolerances can range from .006mm to 0.1mm with a typical tolerance of .013mm

Job Responsibilities:

Use a variety of measuring devices to inspect material for conformance to drawing tolerances, quality standards and completeness of the operation.

Read and interpret work orders, assembly and detail drawings, special instructions, process specifications, standard procedures, material specifications, etc.

Participate in gage R&R studies

Create non-conformance in ERP system and segregate non-conforming material as they are waiting for remedial action.

Maintain accurate documentation of inspection results

Receiving Inspection of supplier parts and material

Confer with engineers, production personnel, vendors and others regarding inspection and test results and play a role in developing preventive action.

Understand the J ohnstech sales order documentation package including specifications, BOMs, drawings, WO s, data sheets etc.

Understand inspection and test procedures and equipment to be used to perform the inspections and tests. Maintain knowledge of state-of-the-art inspection equipment and methods.

Qualifications

Required:

Minimum HS Diploma/GED

3+ years conducting final or in process inspection OR in lieu of experience, completion of a NIMS accredited training program

Confidence in the use of various measuring tools such as micrometers, dial calipers, indicators, gages, scales, etc.

Knowledge of statistical techniques of quality assurance

Experience with automatic vision inspection systems

Highly competent in detail ability and accuracy

Ability to perform close tolerance work and to read and comprehend prints/drawings

Self directed

Ability to use Microsoft Outlook and Excel

Willingness to work overtime and some weekends

Self-directed approach in getting work done.

Motivated, cooperative, responsible and flexible

Highly preferred:

Quality experience at a manufacturing company

Strong computer knowledge and able to learn new software easily

Experience inspecting very tight tolerance parts - Johnstech tolerances range from .00 5 mm to 0.1mm with a typical tolerance being .013 mm .

Experience creating inspection programs with PC-DMIS Vision desired.

Pay range for this position is $22 to $27 per hour depending on qualifications. This salary information serves as a general guideline. Several factors are considered when making an offer for this position including but not limited to work experience, education, geographic location, certifications, key skills, market and business conditions.
