Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Formulation Chemist to lead and manage new product development projects. This role involves working with both existing and new formulas to achieve desired outcomes. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with customers, develop comprehensive R&D strategies, and guide projects from inception to completion. Responsibilities
- Manage new product development projects with both existing and new formulas.
- Scope out projects with customers to determine technical needs and desired outcomes.
- Plan, manage, and execute all necessary R&D tasks from start to finish.
- Perform research, raw material sourcing, application testing, and physical testing to ensure product specifications and desired outcomes are met.
- Present findings and final products to customers, adjusting as needed to prove viability or identify constraints.
- Delegate tasks to other chemists and lab personnel as necessary.
- Coach, guide, and train less experienced lab personnel throughout the product development process.
- Strong background in formulation chemistry.
- Experience with epoxy, urethane, silicone, UV curable acrylate, encapsulants, adhesives, and coatings.
- Ability to manage five to seven projects per week with variable deadlines.
- Proficiency in working with customers and collaborating with other project leaders and junior chemists.
- Experience with 100% solid materials is required.
- Must not have experience with water-based, solvent-based, thermoplastic, or hot melt products.
