Responsibilities
- Own and develop process engineering deliverables for CarbonCapture prototype systems, including P&IDs, heat and mass balance, equipment specifications, and operational procedures.
- Help define and evolve system architecture, including process flows, control strategies, instrumentation and measurement approach, heat integration, and risk mitigations.
- Lead resolution of process and mechanical issues found in real-world builds (e.g., control logic, layout clashes, and integration gaps).
- Collaborate with mechanical, electrical & controls, project, and test teams to ensure well-integrated system designs and reliable operation.
- Support prototype development through test planning and data analysis.
- Identify and drive opportunities for system-level improvements in performance, safety, cost, and operability.
Requirements
- Bachelors or Masters in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
- 3+ years of full-time industry experience in process engineering.
- Strong working knowledge of thermodynamics, process design principles, and control systems.
- Experience creating and managing process engineering documentation: P&IDs, PFDs, mass and energy balances, and control strategies.
- Comfortable working hands-on with early-stage systems and prototypes, including on-site troubleshooting.
- Clear, concise communication and documentation skills.
- Self-directed and adaptable, with a proven ability to define and execute tasks in a startup-style environment.
