"We have an exciting opportunity for a Chemist at our Piscataway, NJ creative center working in the Applications lab. The successful candidate will be eager to learn, inquisitive and possess a strong interest in working in a team setting.
Your key responsibilities:
- Responsible for experimental design and testing to resolve fragrance related issues.
- Work directly with perfumery team to identify and suggest solutions/next steps to resolve fragrance related issues in client bases. Provide weekly updates to FDM team and Sales on status of troubleshooting projects.
- Initiate stability testing trials and evaluate samples for olfactive and physical changes. Provide finalized reports to sales team. Present testing results and presentations to clients and internal teams when required. Maintain record keeping for test experiments and results.
- Conduct titration testing monitoring the integrity over time (using Mettler Toledo equipment) on household bases containing chlorine or peroxide. Maintain Titration testing equipment by performing or communicating the need for any maintenance.
- Knowledge of color matching in various product forms. Create color formulations when required for various product forms.
- Order raw materials for R&D proactive work and formulation development. Formulate, test, and prepare in-house bases as required.

You bring:
- BS Chemistry or equivalent experience required.
- 2-5 years Lab experience in fragrance Applications group highly desired.
- Ability to troubleshoot fragrance and product stability issues.
- Ability to work in a face paced environment and multi-task.
- Must be well organized, detail oriented, and possess excellent time management skills.
The salary or hourly wage scale provided reflects the pay range dsm-firmenich expects to pay the successful candidate for the position. Individual pay offered will be based on the applicant's job-related skills, experience, relevant education, or training, and primary work location. Salary $71,000-$90,000.
In addition to base salary, we also offer a comprehensive total rewards package, inclusive of annual incentive pay, a retirement savings plan, health care coverage, paid time off, recognition programs and a broad range of other benefits.
